Think of the 20th century as a traumatic wound bleeding uncontrollably into the present day. Think of us as hopelessly blood-soaked bandages trying to sop up a flood of history. Or think of us as worm-like fingers picking and scratching at the past with shoveled nails. This whole planet controlled by a government-media complex grabbing power and maintaining it by stirring up hatred and division. Create factions and sub-factions, contrasting ideologies, a totem pole of identity politics ever-rising into the clouds. Keep them afraid of something. Keep them afraid of everything.
