A new round of lay-offs is sweeping through my office. My favorite co-worker's last day will be Friday. She's the one I always stop and chat with when I make my rounds. I save her favorite magazines for her. She brings me homemade baked goods. Today she brought me a big slice of berry cake. I am sad to lose her. Who knows? Maybe we'll stay in touch? That usually doesn't last for long.
