out for rain

I sent my face out for rain. I press my cheek into sound. The raincoat is the only friend I have left on this fallen Earth. Let's screen a movie in the liquor store. I wish to be left alone in the scent of trees. My body is coffin-shaped and sinking through a muddy cloud. I wish I knew you in the sunset. Back when the sun was close enough to rise and fall. The phone chokes on your voice. I welcome the rain on a secret rooftop. Some of us never got good at aging. Some of us got too good at dying. I miss your voice in the world of forms. I miss your body in a night of sound.
