lower the sky


I fear the weight of clouds. I recognize you by the pattern of breath captured in the telephone. All the traffic lights turn grey. Wind crashes through the intersection. I watch everything from a distance, enjoying nothing but the immediacy of a first drink--the pop, crackle, and blip of isolation fluid entering my bloodstream.
