cards without names / somersaulting across polished floors of isolation


An avalanche of time is bearing down upon us. These treetrunks won't survive our names.

Really, I just wanted to know someone. And be known. For just a little while. Before the night buries us all.

Look how this grey afternoon has conquered Bach and the teacups. Look how it's emptied this place of everyone you once loved.

I'm the only one left to hang the Christmas lights. I'll hang my shadow instead. And hope it lights up the room half as much.
